Out of the box, the shoes were not comfortable for my problem feet but I gave them 3 stars because I was able to make them work. The arch support is great -- enough so that I don't need my custom insoles. The main problem is that there is not much cushioning and the shoe itself feels extra hard, so it feels like I'm walking on a bare wood floor. Usually I replace a shoe's thin insoles with my nicely cushioned insoles but because the arch support is built into these shoes, even after removing their insoles, the shoes' arch support combined with the arch support of the insoles I added turned me into a major under-pronator. I was able to solve the comfort problem by inserting a flat gel insole under the shoe's existing insole, which has given the shoe enough cushioning to make it comfortable. With the extra gel insole and the shoe's natural arch support, I'd give the shoe 4 stars but I only gave it 3 stars because it didn't come that way. Another minor issue: Maybe it's because I got the wide width, but the shoelaces were twice as long as they needed to be -- even after tying them in a big bow and double knot, the laces still dragged on the floor so I had to replace them. Not a big deal, but for as much as these shoes cost, they should be right right out of the box.
This shoe was immediately comfortable. It's super cute. The color of the navy shoe looks just like the pictures. The toe box is just right, and I don't have an issue with material rubbing the tops of my toes. I'll use this shoe for casual walking. I usually wear a 9 1/2 in a walking shoe, and the 9 1/2 was perfect.
The Dyad 8 fit well. The Dyad 9 fits my orthotics but when walking they don't function as well, and I can't wear them. The heel seems to sit lower and something about the Dyad 9 is causing some pronation in the heel that other neutral sneakers don't cause. Please go back to the Dyad 8 features.
Like many other reviewers, I'm having to wear a half size up in the new Glyerin 15s. I have a very narrow foot, wear 6.5/7 in regular shoes, and have worn an 8 in Glyerin & Ghosts since I switched to Brooks from Asics about 6 years ago. I tried both the 8 and 8.5 narrow in these new Glyerins and the toes of my left foot hit the end of the 8s when I walk. The rest of the shoe feels a little better in the 8 for some reason, but I can't ignore my toes hitting the end. Guess I'll stick with the 8.5. Fortunately, I like the evening blue/purple/teal color because that's the only choice in narrow. I wanted the new Ghosts, too, but those colors are boring & they only offer the worst color in narrow.
Super bummed to find that the 15s run small. My toes hit the end of the shoe and I've always worn an 8.5. I've been a Glycerin fan since the 11s, and this is the first pair I sent back. Try ordering up a half size. Zappos customer service is the best.
