Volley Australia

Volley Australia Logo
In 1939 an Australian footwear institution was born when Aussie tennis legend Adrian Quist won the Davis Cup in a pair of borrowed boat shoes. Inspired, he took the shoes back to his job at the Dunlop Rubber factory and went about emulating the boat shoes’ unique ‘herringbone’ grip in a shoe purpose built for tennis. The Volley was born, and became the tennis shoe of choice for a dynasty of Australian tennis champions.

Roll on to 1976 when Mark Edmonson won the Australian Open wearing a pair of Internationals, and Volley sealed a place in history as the great Australian sports shoe. Not only did this occasion put Volley in the history books, it marked a turning point that would see Volley transcend sporting greatness and enter the Australian psyche as a pop culture icon.

Australians all over the country were starting to discover the benefits of this humble home grown shoe. What was once a sports shoe became ideal for all types of occasions; sports, street, weekend, leisure, even work. Today, Volleys grace the feet of rock legends, supermodels, hipsters, students, hospitality workers and kids alike. Sported by Australians aged from nine to ninety, never before has there been a shoe with such broad ranging appeal. Volley truly is the quintessential Australian icon.

Volley is the sole of Australia.
