The 7.5 seemed a tad short but the 8.0 were a little wide. Also, like nearly all hiking shoes these days, they were HOT due to all the synthetic material.(Wish someone would make all leather boots...) Otherwise they were comfortable and high quality construction.

Well built. Not too flexible. May have to return due they feel a little small and narrow. I have the Merrell FST which is much more comfortable but also not as stiff for hiking.

I have a pretty messed up back and the right shoes are a must for me to prevent excessive back pain when standing or walking. These boots are some of the most comfortable I have owned. They took a few days to break in, but now I can walk all day in them. They are very supportive and soft on my feet. I bought them for winter everyday shoes to deal with all the slush and mud, but cannot bring myself to stop wearing them now that it's summer. Shoes look good and feel great. They ran a bit small when trying them on in the store and I ended up going up a half size, but with that size increase, the fit is great.

I have a narrow foot so I ordered a B width and these are perfect. Very short break in time and extremely comfortable. I have a number of pairs of high quality hiking boots and these tank right up there. Of course no boot comes with good insoles so I always put green super feet in my boots. Which made these a perfect medium stiffness boot.

These boots look awesome. I need a heel for my back in construction sales and in Phoenix I need it to be cool in my shoe. I have been breaking these in for 3 days and my life sucks. Every part of my foot and my knees and hips hurt. If these break in they are the perfect item for the job. I will change my review if they actually break in.

I needed replacement for my old Timberland hiking boots. I ordered these Vasque and Merrell. Vasque were snug and perfect. these boot felt very good on my feet, and I will keep it. Timberland was very comfortable, nice support but little wide even for my wide feet with bunions. Merrell boot were very comfortable, but not high enough to provide ankle support.

The sizing is very odd - one ran large the other small and this doesn't normally happen to me.

Looked like great shoes, but normally I am an 11.5 or 12 W. These shoes were a 12 and too short, probably by half a size. So unfortunately I had to return them and since they don't come in 12.5, I have to choose a different shoe.

This is a firm feeling "boot" which I usually shy away from. But I've found that firmer shoes are now better for my rather high arches. This shoe really fits the foot well, with great lateral support. I ended up taking out the removable Vasque insole and putting in my Vionic orthotic, with a thin gel insole under that, and it makes it just right for me. For regular feet, the original insole might be perfect - it is more substantial than expected.

I live in a rural town with few options when it comes to shopping. A friend told me about Zappos policy of free shipping and returns which made my decision to shop here. I bought two pair of shoes, one pair didn't fit. I called Zappos and questioned how to return. The sale associate encouraged me to try the same shoe in another size, which I did. She also emailed me a return label for the shoes that didn't fit. I called Zappos on a Friday, the following Monday I had the shoes in a different size, that fit perfectly. On Wednesday I returned the shoes that didn't fit via the Zappos UPS return label. I would highly recommend shopping at Zappos. I am happy with both of my purchases. I couldn't be happier with my purchases and more importantly their customer service, free shipping and return policy.

My husband got these for several high adventure Boy Scout trips this summer including the Jamboree. He is wearing them and loves them. They are high quality and very comfortable.

I first bought these Vasque low cut shoes for day hiking back in 2013. Like them so much I got the mid height in forested for the winter. I usually order 4E in all my shoes but I found my foot fits comfortably in theses EE's. I have lots of trouble with my feet, primarily callouses on the balls of feet. I do we're a peadtric insert in these and still feel comfortable with the height inside the shoe. I would normally buy 10.5 but I've recently started buying size 11. It's made all the difference with my feet feeling great after Hikes. I have recently started wearing these for work on days I'm out doing field work. To date I've purchase five pairs of the Vasque mantra or gtx series shoes. The only complaint I've ever had is with tongue slippage. I wish Vasque would add an eyelet at the top of the tongue to prevent this from happening. Even with this I still return and bought again. Find the size true to length and on the roomy side for width. Best luck if you try these.

This is a great-designed shoe, with one of best fits for me, with one fatal flaw - the arch support is in the wrong place. It's too far back, it's digging into my heel. I will try other models.

Used 3 pair of the older model on an AT Thru-hike 10 years ago. No major foot problems. Toe guard would start to peel after a few hundred miles. JB Weld to the rescue. Wore them until tread was totally gone and inner sole was exposed. I could lace up a new pair and go with no long break in period. I am hoping the new model will have a better bonded toe guard. Even with this concern, these are the most comfortable boots I have worn -- I grew up on the AT and I have been hiking for 50 years. I own a pair of Breeze II low cut for fast and light hiking as well. Have lost toe nails with other brands, never toe problems with Vasgue. Still have a 15-year-old pair of Vasques - uppers still in great shape but tread is totally gone.

I've been wearing this shoe for perhaps ten years - long time. Value for price is good. Fits true to size. Very comfortable for the first six months or so. If you hike a lot, the cushioning - like any running shoe - will degrade over a year or so. The interior back heel is make of synthetic fabric and foam - that wears out quickly for me. Usually I order a new pair yearly and use the older ones for mud work.
