I ordered these shoes after lusting after this particular style and primarily the color combination for decades! I had always wanted a pair of Saddle shoes in the blue and tan, with the red soles and rounded toe since they came back into fashion early in my high school years. But, that color combo only came in an expensive brand, that also produced the many bright color combos for the cheerleaders to wear in their high school colors, such as red and white, green and white, blue and white, as well as blue and the tan color I really liked best. My parents refused to buy them, I had no money of my own (having never received a dime of allowance during my entire childhood.) Anyway, they operated under the badly mistaken belief that cheap and ugly shoes would serve just as well. WRONG!! They made me a target for every snob and bully in the place. Anyway, back to the shoes in question! I placed my order after consulting the size chart they provided, calculating that a 10½ Wide would/should fit me. Being no stranger to wide width shoes, I ordered them, happy that a 10½ anything even existed! I got them in no time flat, and was very excited to get the box open, and get them on my feet. I have wide feet, but they don't usually keep me from wearing "off the rack" wide shoes. So, I wasn't concerned, as I opened the boxes and brought out the first shoe. My right foot happens to be just a tiny bit larger than my left, so I always fit my shoes to the right foot, figuring that if the shoe fits that foot, it should easily fit the left. I undid the laces, opened up the top of the shoe, inserted the shoe horn in the heel, and prepared to put that first shoe on my foot. It was not to be. My foot wouldn't go even halfway into the shoe. I wasn't yet defeated, however, so I took the lace completely out of all the grommets, down to the last set across the instep. This allowed me to open the top of the shoe completely, and remove tongue partially out of the shoe by pulling it straight up and out of the shoe, making the opening much larger. But, even that wasn't enough. I still couldn't get my foot down in the shoe, even by using a shoe horn! I honestly don't know if I was guided incorrectly by the chart, or what. I checked the order chart, and there wasn't any larger size available in a wide width. I wanted to cry, since this meant I would have to give the shoes back for a full refund, as promised, instead of an exchange for a larger size. So, I sent them back, carefully repackaged, just as they were sent to me, and received a prompt and full refund. I'm sure the problems I experienced with this shoe were strictly because of the structure of my feet, and nothing to do with the shoes. They felt and appeared to be made of good quality materials. All the other positive reviews on here have come from highly satisfied customers, and there can only be one reason for that, and that has to be shoes well made out of quality materials. You can't get better than that, no matter what brand name or price tag is attached to them!

I absolutely love the shoes but the toe is so hard and the leather seems tough. My feet were not very "Happy Feet", pardon the pun. I will search and order something similar, just not the school issue ones. Thanks Zappo's and I love the North Star Jacket. Sincerely, Susan

Good professional shoes for Cinderella. : ) My shoe size in women's is 5WW. I found the 3W boys to be a lovely fit. The back part is stiff and hurts my heel/ankle but I'm confident that can be solved with time and moleskin.

Good shoe for a wide foot. My son has a very wide foot, we can rarely find him a shoe without laces. This one works!

These are the go-to school shoes for my boys. The soles are incredibly sturdy. Solid shoe that lasts a whole school year if not for ever growing feet!

I bought these shoes for my son to wear with his uniforms for school. The look great. He loves the. . HOWEVER, the shoe fell apart at exactly 30 days. The heel seperated from the last. Horribly made. Will not buy again regardless of how good they look.

I ordered a half size bigger than I usually do and they got my 8 year old very well. Comfortable and hold up well.

Toe color does not wear off. Tough material so takes a few wearings before broke in. Son complained on pain at first

True to size. My son doesn't like dress shoes at all but he was able to wear this comfortably.

These are one of my favorite pairs of shoes! They are perfectly classic and pair great with a cigarette pant or jean. Adorable!

The back sides of this shoe come up high and rubbed my daughter right below the ankle bone. Just walking around the house for a few minutes caused a red mark. Had to return the shoes

Totally unacceptable shoe - totally stiff, has no give or ability to bend / flex with your foot

My 6 yr old daughter has flat feet and requires the use of insoles but the ones she got at the podiatrist office are bulky and fit better with sneakers, but she is not allowed to wear sneakers as part of her school uniform. I decided to give these shoes a try as one review addressed this concern, and I ordered a size and 1/2 bigger & W and fits perfect.

Perfect church shoe. Looks dressy enough for church but still casual enough for school. No complaints from my 6 year old son. Love the price. The size does run a little small. He normally wears a 12 but needed 13.5.

Great looking shoe! My 9 year old son tried these on and remarked on how comfortable they are. The shoes were bought for a wedding and they will be perfect for the occasion as well as church. You can't beat the price!

Hi oxford lovers I received my shoes today and they fit perfectly. I wear a 7.5 shoe but for this shoe I found that a size 8 works it well. If a person is a true 7.5 I suggest ordering a 1/2 size up. I'm completely satisfied with my purchase. Stylish, comfortable, sturdy I highly recommend this I know that I'm going to receive many compliments. Thank You ZAPPOS.

I am a 65 year old male and have been wearing saddle shoes for 50+ years. I love this interpretation of the classic saddle oxford styling, and in my opinion, is equally suitable for both women and men. They are very light in weight with more of a crepe than rubber sole. After only a week of limited daily wear, they are truly comfortable. I did order 1/2 size larger than I have in the past for women's sized shoes and in the wide width, and they fit perfectly. All in all, I am delighted with my Upper Class saddle shoes and recommend them without reservation.

I received my shoes 01/04/17 and I opened the package and I was like OMG BEAUTIFUL I couldn't wait to try them on I normally wear a 7.5 and they fit but my toes are at tip of shoes ?? I reached ZAPPOS by phone and the customer service helped me with an exchange no charge and sent me a size 8 I was so happy I'm sending the 7.5 back today. For persons who wears a true 7.5 I recommend you 1/2 size up to an 8 and shoe should fit Perfectly. I will keep checking for other colors. These shoes are timeless vintage conversation piece. Stylish, Comfortable, sturdy and can be worn definitely school, work, date dressed up or down. A must own shoe. Thank You ZAPPOS. Robin E. Aka Khadijah Philadelphia
