Oh No! These were WAY too small! I'd say at least 1 size too small. And they were heavy. Clonky. A big no, here.

I'm a size 8.5/9, so I ordered both sizes (40/40.5) and ended up keeping the 8.5/40, with plenty of wiggle room for my toes. I've only worn the boots a handful of times and feel the high ankle needs to be worn in a bit yet, but I'm looking forward to these lasting a long time. My feet felt well supported on the few hikes I've done so far and the boots look great.

Great shoes, but go a half size or so up.

My third pair, great approach and day hiking shoe. Zero break in--take off right out of the box. Sturdy enough to support carrying overnight pack yet light and comfortable. Need to orde 1/2 size up to fit. I wear 10.5, need an 11.

These are lovely light hiking boots. But to get the correct sizing took a bit of patience. Initially ordered in 7 but too short. Then ordered in 7.5. Also too short and no real discernible difference in length between the 7 and 7.5. Wear a 7-7.5 in street shoes. Have a narrow foot and except for the length either of these smaller sizes would have worked. Have a 8 in Sportiva light trail shoes (love them as well) but had tried on a different Sportiva hiking boots at a local store and thought 7 was the size I needed in the hiking boot. Ended up with the 8 although there is probably too much room all round. But the length is finally good and can cinch up the boot to tighten it and wear thicker socks if needed. Haven't worn them except for short foothills hikes but don't think will need much to break them in. Plus they are so light and snazzy looking.

Shoes are gorgeous!!! Light weight. They have a narrow toe box and little toe protection. I am having to return them, unfortunately.

Great lightweight shoe. Would have loved to keep the shoe, but with wider feet these were too narrow. Very breathable and great lacing system. Highly recommend if you do not have wide feet.

Great style, comfort, and day-to-day look. Limited ankle support but a fantastic everyday shoe.

This is my husband’s review of these boots: I fell in love with these boots after reading about them and reading reviews on several websites. I agonized over the price, but decided to spring for them; in fact I bought two pairs so I could try a 10 and a 10½. Zappos had them to my door so fast it made my head spin and I unboxed them with eager anticipation. OK, the size 10 were previously worn, and came without the original box or tags. Seriously Zappos? You charged me full price for used boots? Not good. Those were too small anyway, so I unboxed the 10½ pair. PERFECT. I wore them around the house on the carpet for a few hours and thought I was going to love them at first, but then my arches reminded me I have mild plantar fasciitis. Dang. I took the boots off and tried to fold them; yep, they fold at the arch not at the forefoot. If you have or want to keep from getting plantar fasciitis, these are not the boots for you. SIZING: I normally wear a Mens US size 10. I have a pair of La Sportiva Boulder X approach shoes in US size 11, and thought the best fit for these boots were size 10½.

I've worn the Ultra Raptor for years and while they run narrow and small, aside from the more rapid than usual sole wear, I'm mostly satisfied. Because of $15 off coupon, I decided to try the GTX which is essentially the same shoe style sans waterproofing and color. Ordered the same size I wear in the Ultra Raptor and noticed the GTX runs a bit narrower and found I needed a half size larger. Zappos immediately sent a return label and shipped the replacement pair overnight. Very satisfied overall but be warned to order at least a half to full size larger and be aware the GTX runs narrow.

Borrowed a pair of these from my friend for a trip to Kauai. They performed great and are very comfortable. They're a little goofy looking at first, but actually they look pretty good in their element. Sizing is funny with these. I normally wear a 10.5 in most shoes, but my friend's are 11.5 and I ordered 11. Both feel good:/. My advice is order .5 and 1 full size up and see what works for you.

These were a buy based off of Climbing Magazine gear review for approach shoes and easy climbing. These are perfect hiking shoes and I don't think I will ever wear boots again!! If you are just doing day hikes or short hikes and some bouldering I highly recommend!! I even use on my indoor wall!

These are the most comfortable running shoes I've ever worn. No lie. So light. They feel like slippers--but are supportive in a stealthy way. How do they do it? I have wide feet with narrow heel, and shoes usually feel tight at the base of my toe area. These just feel good all over. Sisterhood of the traveling sneakers...

The Ultra Raptor is an excellent trail running shoe which is also suitable for casual hiking. The shoe appears well constructed, comfortable and provides good support with excellent traction on loose or wet ground. Size 43 is very slightly shorter and narrower than the usual 'Made in China' size 10 running shoe. That suited me perfectly but if you have wide feet you might consider a half-size larger.

I wanted to love these after having had the Helios v. 1 for many many trail miles (running and hiking), but La Sportiva went and narrowed the toe box on me. I have narrow feet and like the fit everywhere else and the light, minimalist feel, and the Helios 1 and 2 did the job. The other updates to version 2 that I liked was the new quick laces. But alas they forgot the toe room of version 1 in their update to version 2. Deal-breaker once I ran beyond 5 trail miles.

this is my second pair. most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. Not soft and cushiony initial comfort comfortable, but solid, secure, all day comfortable. Already dreading the day I can't get them anymore

I wore these boots for the first time on a hike in the Tetons. They were quite comfortable, with excellent traction. It's important to note, I have a narrow forefoot; the boots fit me perfectly. I would not recommend these boots if you have a wide forefoot. The design compliments a narrow foot. Zappos you rock!

I have taken these shoes on three different hikes. Totaling maybe 9 miles. I go climbing often, and carry anywhere from 15-30 pounds of climbing gear. I also weigh about 150 pounds. I share all this to give context about my review. These shoes are SUPER comfy, and provide great support. Not only great support, but amazing grip! You could probably get by climbing in them around 5.6. 5.7 if you're a super strong climber. Anything 5.8 and above, use your climbing shoes because the toes are thick and I personally would want my thinner climbing shoes for those. The only complaint I have in these, are do not drive in them. I drive a manual, and there is so much rubber on the bottom that it took some adjusting to shift gears. Hope this helps your purchase :-)

I bought these shoes for an upcoming 3-week trek in Nepal after reading an article in Outside Magazine, the author of which highly recommended this shoe. I tried them out on a long hike this past weekend, and they fit like a glove! They are lightweight and super comfortable, but still provide adequate ankle support and have great traction. They feel like a favorite pair of slippers, and as a bonus they are super cute!

Great lightweight approach shoes with excellent traction (my main worry) and a close, but not tight, fit. I purchased a size 37, with a regular street shoe size of 6 or 6.5 and a climbing shoe size of 36 or 36.5. These were a good fit for me, though the ankle feels a bit low. Could have been my socks though. On my first day wearing these, I promptly walked through a river on some slippery rocks and made it across fairly easily. I think they'll be great for scrambling and they fit me well, so I'm excited to continue wearing them on our climbing/exploring trips.

These shoes are awesome! I ordered three different shoes to see what fit the best and these were the hands down winner. I did have to go up a full size for better fit. Great arch support, and light weight. I work on my feet all day and these shoes keep my feet happy.
