I am an altra fan. The zero drop and wide toe box have helped me deal with Morton's neuroma pain. This particular footwear is meant for trail hiking or trial running. If that is not the intended use I would consider the Altra Torin. Same max cushioning and wide toe box minus the stoneguard bottom. I found this shoe runs a bit larger than my Torins. However it works well for heavier socks that most would wear hiking in a wooded area. They work for me :)

I purchased these for my husband as I am an Altra fan myself. He loved them, especially the room in the toe box. We hike in a wooded area with lots of pine cones and pine straw. It can be slippery. The grip on the shoes is great. The cushioning also made him very happy.

I'm a woman with bunions who wears men's running shoes for the extra width. I was hoping these shoes would be great for me since my husband loves his but they were just too narrow. They don't come close to the width of my Asics. I had to send them back and stick with men's Asics.

I bought these based on the "zero drop" claim. They fit a little smaller than normal but are very comfortable, and the zero drop gives me a walk that seems close to the way feet are supposed to work. It does take a few days to get accustomed to the new foot position, though, but it's well worth it.

Disappointed. I really wanted to like these! But as others have stated, my feet kept going forward with my toes hitting the front. I actually ended up with a black toenail on my right foot!!! The stitching on the top also broke after less than a week. I am returning these. I love my three other styles of Altras, just not three.

I like the shoe but the sizing of Olympus 2.5 is way off compared to others. It's frustrating having to order twice to get the correct size.

I was really hoping these would work as I need something for multiple foot problems including Morton's neuroma, bunion and bionette, and diabetic feet. Unfortunately, these didn't work for my high instep--just not enough volume in the shoe.

OMG,it has too much red. What a crazy hot red. All in all, the shoe is great. Wondering if I should just trade it in for another color when it becomes available. I have a Morton's Neuroma, and it is very difficult to fit into any closed shoes, but my family is going on vacation and I need a comfortable sneaker for a lot of walking, including hiking. I am trying to decide between a Merrill hiking shoe and these Altra sneakers. This shoe is wide enough to put in any cushiony insoles or orthotics. I highly recommend them. This sneaker has room for the toes to splay very nicely.

If Alta is truly concerned about proper shoe fit, then I suggest they make an option for C or D width for women's shoes. I have a wide width, and the reviews said there is a roomy toe box, but I need it a slight bit roomier in the heel and toe area.

These are the cushiest of all Altras (except perhaps for the Olympus). Yes, they do allow for natural toe splay. But despite their unique toe box, they are still not wide enough for those of us who either have bunions or truly, truly wide feet like a EE or 4EE. Shoe mnfrs. don't seem to realize that the width of a wide foot not across the toes, but further back towards the direction of the arch. Because of the lack of 'true' width and MOST IMPORTANTLY the sizing is so screwy. Do NOT order your regular size. I ordered three different Altra models. All were not only too narrow, but wa-a-a-ay too short. Order AT LEAST 1/2 to a full size up. The above reasons are why I only gave them 3 stars.

My husband first ordered a pair of red Altra Provision 3 shoes which ran 1/2 small, so they were returned for a larger size. He loved these shoes so much, due to the design and comfort, that he ordered these Altra Instinct Everyday shoes in black. Knowing that the red pair were 1/2 size too small he ordered the black ones accordingly but these turned out to be a FULL size too small. So those had to be returned also for an even larger size. He has never worn that size in any shoe ever, so it was surprising that these shoes run so small. But when he got a size that fit, he just loooooves these Altra shoes and hardly wears anything else. Just know that they definitely run very small.

I absolutely LOVE this shoe, and while it doesn't look sexy at first (blue/yellow), it has gotten the job done for me time and time again. First run out of the box was for 10 miles - no problems. It is highly cushioned, very, very comfortable, allows plenty of space for the toes, and yet it still INSANELY light. I PRed this year in the 13.1 distance in this shoe (1:28:07) and have worn it for a 70.3 triathlon as well. It is my regular long-run shoe, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I've since ordered the gray/orange version to differentiate the two. I am shocked at how light it actually is. It isn't heavy, although I did lose some "feel" for the road compared to the Provision. I have had no issues, and this will be my long-course shoe when I start IRONMAN Santa Rosa in ~3 weeks. I do try and only do 10+ miles in these shoes, to keep the padding and support. The other Altras that I run in are the Provision, Superior, and Lone Peak.

I really love these shoes. The bottom of my right foot has very little padding in it due to an accident. It makes walking very painful if I don't put insoles in my shoes. These shoes were wonderful out of the box. I feel like I am walking on a cloud. The shoe does run just a tad short so I had to go up half a size. Also, if you aren't use to a zero-drop shoe, it does take a little while to get use to it. I walk 3.5 miles every day and these have been great shoes. Now I am thinking about buying their mid-top boot.

Too tight across the front, just behind the toe area (in front of the laces) My Altra One 2.5's fit perfectly and are worn out from wear. The One V3 also had a very sloppy heel (so much so that my heel was actually coming out of the shoe - how is this even possible with the forefoot too tight?? I have been gleefully buying their shoes for about 3 years past and fit into everything in my size. It used to feel like a great big "Ahhh" to get a new pair on my foot. This order, I bought 3 new pairs thinking my shopping would be done for a spell. ALL THREE had the same problem of too tight in the front of the mid-sole/back of the toe box area. I could hardly be more disappointed with Altra right now. They were my go-to brand that I told all my friends about and now they are junk on my foot.

Crazy tight just behind the toe area (right in front of the laces) I used to fit into every pair of Altras in my size, but this year 3 of 3 pairs have the same problem. I am very disappointed in Altra. What is the point of a roomy toe box if the middle of the shoe pinches like crazy? They did look nice and felt light for running, but unwearable for me

Very "pinchy" and tight just behind the toe area. Not wearable for me. Sad because I love the zero drop and the roomy toe box. Upper material felt a bit flimsy and sole a bit too thick.

I love the Altra Torin....however, for my foot, this shoe was too narrow in the toe box area. Plus, my foot would slip out of the shoe in the heel area. The cushioning is outstanding though.

I love Altra but most esp Torin model (2.0 is the most comfortable shoe). I can no longer find those so looking to replace one pair that wore out. Tried these. They are good but slightly smaller toe box and less midsole padding making them a little less friendly than the Torin 2.0 or 3.0. Not a bad shoe just not top dog for Altra.
