I've relied on the Torins for 3 or more years. The 2.5 is more narrow, which compresses my foot. I also don't like the strip on top of the shoe that runs over the big toe. When I walk that strip creases and puts pressure on the joint of by big toe. Please don't let this be a sign of future generations of Torins.

Altra brand shoes have become my only athletic shoes. Within 2 weeks I am the proud owner of 2 pairs of Provision 3, and one pair of Lone Peak 3. For my feet, fit and comfort rate an A plus! (I gave away my eight pairs of Nikes.)

I have had 4 foot surgeries over the last year. My doctor recommended Altras and nothing else. I'm so glad he did. These shoes are awesome and I'm loving this style! I started with a cool pink and now have gone to my second pair in black....love them!

I waited a year for these new Intuitions to come out, as they were touted as being very much like the 1.5's, which are the only shoe I can wear (I own 2 pair....wish I'd bought 10 more). These, unfortunately, are NOT like the 1.5's. They don't even feel like zero drop to me, but I know they are. Not comfortable; very stiff and significantly higher off the ground. I returned them and will continue searching for the perfect shoe until my 1.5's fall apart. (You can buy these directly from Altra's website for $110.)

Nice room for toes, but WAY too cushioned.

I have been on a search for a shoe that would help my Morton's neuroma. This shoe is perfect. It cushions my whole foot and will be my walking shoe for our travels. The toe box gives ample room for making your toes happy. Thank you Altra for making such a cushioned but light shoe.

I bought this for my husband, who loves trekking up a little mountain every morning. He said that the shoes have been great for his use, that they're good for trails, but not off-trail or in rockier terrain (the footbed is too soft to handle pointy rocks). Other notes: the width of the toe box seems to be correcting a problem with pain on one side of his foot; the shoes don't breathe very well... sweaty toes; he had to buy one size up from his usual shoes (12.5 for an 11.5 foot).

I have several issues and challenges with my feet and find it difficult to find comfortable shoes with a wide toe box and stable sole. I have three pairs of Altra sneakers and all are the most comfortable shoes I have and will buy it again and again.

Loved the wide toe box, but I thought the shoe was too cushioned with not enough ground feel.

This is a great shoe because of the wide toe box. I am not a runner but walk on average five or more miles a day. This is my fourth pair.

Finally, a shoe with a toe box shaped like my foot! Excellent arch support though, in my opinion, they could benefit from a bit more cushioning (this is likely due to the "zero-drop" forefoot/rearfoot differential and I can see the benefit; I'm trying to adapt my running style, but as a lifelong heel striker, the change is difficult). Aside from that, this is a really well thought out shoe... I can't say enough positive things about the shape of this shoe in the forefoot. Also, a word to zappos customer service: I took a lot of back and forth to get the right pair of shoes and you guys rocked it every step of the way, so to speak...

My 9 year old has always chosen his shoes to fit a few sizes too big (and wide) to have enough room in the toe box, with these shoes that is not necessary. He loved these shoes out of the box and has worn them out after nearly continuous wear for 5-6 months. He started lacrosse a month ago and in the past month the uppper has nearly separated from the sole. It is a tradeoff, the upper is not very thick, so the shoes are not as sweaty as others, but the durability is not as high as say his old New Balance XWs. My 11 year old daughter also loves these shoes, they have been highly supportive during the school day for healing her Sievers issues with her heels. So we love the shoes, but would definitely like to love them longer before needing to replace them!

The Altra Intuition is an extremely comfortable shoe. If you are on your feet all day, I highly recommend them! Unfortunately, they are not stylish at all. Luckily, I work at a place where no one cares about my shoes. :D

I love the wide toe box on Altra shoes. These feel slightly shorter than my Torin 2.5's, but not so much that I felt I needed to size up.

They look better in person that they do on the website. I've been running in low drop (4mm) shoes for years and was super glad to be able to wear low drop shoes for day to day/work also. Overall I like them and would recommend them. Having said that, I have 2 nits against the shoes: 1) One of the tongues had a rough seam. I gave it a couple of days to soften up but it was still causing a rub spot on the top of my foot. I made some "adjustments" with a pair of manicuring scissors and was able to resolve the problem. It bugs me that for $130, these didn't have better QC checks on them. 2) If you don't get the lacing tight, the wide toebox allows your foot to slide forward and bump your toes at the end. Once they break in, this is less of an issue. But if you like to wear your laces loose, be warned.

I wanted these boots. I own the Lone Peak shoes and was thrilled to find these. But, no. First, I ordered both an 11 and a 10.5 based on some comments that the sizing was funny. Indeed it is. The 10.5 was larger than the 11. Really. Both shoes have a funny seam the runs down the middle of the shoe inside on the outer part of the foot. In both pairs, that seam rubbed against the bump (metatarsal) in the middle of the side of my foot. Perhaps a good pair of insoles would raise my foot high enough to clear that seam, but for $160/pr, I wasn't willing to fiddle with the shoe. So sad.

Very comfortable and light weight. This model is not waterproof. A little hard to slip on without loosening the top laces.

If Herman Munster or Frankenstein or a robot invader from a 1950's sci-fi movie were runners, this would be their shoe. It's a block with an opening in the top to put your foot in. This shoe is just odd. I do love the Altra Torin and the Lone Peak. They are amazing shoes. The Olympus feels loose at the heel/ankle, and it also feels like my foot is sliding forward in the shoe. I like the charcoal/green color combo, but that's about all. I'm neutral with slight overpronation, low arch. Street shoe size is 8M, and almost all running shoes I'm 9M. 9M was right in this shoe. Yes, it's max cushioned without causing instability, but something about the structure and design just feels off.

I ordered these after reading a review that said how wide these run. They are in fact narrower than normal and I tried with very thin socks They look nice and the insole seemed marvelous. If they made these in a wide or extra wide width they might be fantastic I can't run but have various foot miseries so just wanted something Comfortable and supportive in which to walk. These could fit the bill if they were made wider

This was my first pair of Altra shoes. I was looking for something to accommodate my squashed toes and relieve the numbness caused by a neuroma. I found it! I must admit these are the first shoes that make my feet feel good after walking for any length of time. Very comfortable. I did send the first pair back because they felt about a half size tight on my left foot but the reorder fit fine. The only complaint I have is that they look "different". I'm not used to the wider toe box style but hope I get used to it. The more I wear them the happier I am.
